At TLC Fostering, we are proud to support children and young people aged 0–18 who have additional needs and complex medical conditions. These are children who require not only a safe and loving home, but also understanding, patience and specialist care.
Every child we support is unique. They come to us with their own personalities, strengths and experiences, and our role is to ensure they are given the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Children with Additional Needs

Many of the children placed with TLC foster parents have a range of additional needs. This can include learning disabilities, developmental delays, sensory impairments or conditions that affect how they experience and interact with the world.

These children benefit from carers who can offer consistency, reassurance and a willingness to adapt to their individual needs helping them build confidence, independence and a sense of belonging.

Children with Complex Medical Needs

We also support children and young people with complex medical conditions. This may include physical disabilities, long-term health conditions or the need for specialist medical care within the home.

While this may sound daunting, you are never expected to manage this alone. TLC provides full training, guidance and ongoing support, ensuring you feel confident and equipped to meet each child’s needs safely and effectively.

Children Who Have Experienced Trauma

Alongside their additional or medical needs, many children we support have experienced difficult early life experiences. This may include trauma, loss, neglect or instability.

As a result, they may need extra emotional support, patience and understanding as they begin to build trust and form positive relationships. Our therapeutic approach helps foster parents understand behaviours and respond in a way that supports healing and development.
